HOW PHYSICAL THERAPY CAN HELP

Though there is more awareness now than even 5 years ago, it is incredibly disappointing the lack of referral to physical therapy, specifically pelvic floor physical therapy, for both the pregnant and postpartum populations. As described continuously in this kit, during pregnancy the human body goes through immense physical and physiological changes, some of which are permanent. Physical therapists specialize in rehabilitation and optimizing function of the human body. In short, physical therapists improve the way you move down to the ligaments that connect our bones. If you are experiencing pain of any kind, difficulty with your daily tasks, trouble walking, or anything else that alters how you get from day to day, consult your MD for a physical therapy referral. Physical therapists are capable of treating numerous conditions that ail the pregnant population. I strongly encourage you to consider making an appointment. See the list below – it is just a glimpse of the skills a physical therapist can offer.”
