MY STORY
Aloha! My name is Kate and I’ve been a fitness trainer for over 15 years, worked in the physical therapy field for over for 8, studied nutrition and exercise physiology in school, plus have multiple specialty certifications including pregnancy & postpartum corrective exercise. Most of all, I'm a mom. I have been through the joys and challenges of pregnancy and postpartum not once, but twice. I strive to be the healthiest version of me (most days!). Too often do we see sedentary habits take over our lives. External and internal stressors may make it hard for us to reach our goals, I get it. But never settle and absolutely never give up!
Being active has always been very important to me. I was one of those kids you had a hard time “shutting off”. As a child I played soccer (on an all-boys team) and participated in competitive swimming. As an adult, I progressed to century rides, triathlons, half/full marathons, and obstacle courses. Unfortunately, my two complicated pregnancies and a difficult postpartum period with my first, put a gigantic halt to my abilities. I was devastated! Not only that, I had no idea how to start over given my complications. My health and fitness levels declined significantly. This drove me to educate myself on the delicacies of pregnancy and postpartum – a perfect complement to my fitness and clinical knowledge base.

First with a newborn, then toddler AND newborn, it became increasingly difficult to live “the gym life” due to various constraints. A big discovery for me was that staying active didn’t have mean “gym membership”. Instead, though I still love the gym, I started doing on demand workouts in my bedroom and writing routines from my couch-office. What a thrill to get amazing results without having to pack up my gear and the kids, make sure the fur babies are settled, drive to the gym, load them in kids club, do my workout (hopefully without any interruptions from the kiddos), drive back home, unpack my gear, get the kids settled – I’m exhausted rereading that. These exercise programs have made my life healthier. My physicians say that I’ve never been healthier. I want that for everyone.
